Vernon to Irina

Hello Irina,

my name is Vernon and I seen your web site and your article about Russian women scammers, and I would like to share my story with you. The main reason I would like to share my story with you is because I have been contacted by a women and I wanted to know if you have her in the scammers list. She sent me an email in a Christian dating site that I'm on called, www.relationships.com. She told me in her first email that she finds me the interesting person and she gave me her email. She or he, said that her full name is Ekaterina Miheeva and her email address is zkatez27@gmail.com. She seems to have many of the signs that you point out in your article, she says she's a nurse, she tells me that it would be cheaper for her to come to me, than for me to go to her. But I had a question about her and I was hoping that you could give me some advice. When she told me that she wanted to come to me and I can send the money through western union, I asked her if she wouldn't mind if I paid for her visa and passport directly to the Russian embassy in Moscow, because I felt if she is a scammer, she would not like that idea, because she wouldn't be able to get the money, but when I asked her that, she seemed to have no problem with it. Can she still make or get money even if I paid for her visa myself instead of sending money directly to her? Because I have the number of the Russian embassy in Moscow and I can talk to them directly. I got their number from the Russian embassy web site. Can you give me some advice about this? I would really appreciate your help.

Sincerely, Vernon.

Hello Vernon,

First, she is in scammers lists - http://www.datingnmore.com/fraud/scam_email3.htm You have not written but I suppose you are from USA (sorry, if I am mistaken). You can phone directly to embassy, but she knows (and I know and other here know) what they will tell you. They will tell you that it is impossible to get visa to USA just like that. That's why she is easy about this. She knows what you will be told.
In any way, passport can't be done by anyone except the person itself (it costs if you do it yourself about 10 usd, if to order at the travel agency it is about 30 usd).
And it is a lie that it is cheaper to go to USA from Russia than vice versa. Here the tickets are more expensive (I sometimes do the service - men pay to me and I buy the tickets for girls and make it so that they can't sell it or use it in any other way, only for the flight to the man). But it is only when they go to the country that does not have visa - Turkey, Egypt, Jamaica.
And I know that the tickets in Russia are more expensive than in USA or other countries.
Have you talked to her on the phone? (Do you know her telephone number?) But I am sure that she is a scammer, as signs are here and her email in the lists of scammers' emails.
If you want you can send me some of her letters for checking.

Best regards,
Irina

Hello Irina,

I wanted to thank you for all your help. You were right, I clicked on the link and I saw her there. You just saved me a lot of money, how can I ever thank you? I really appreciate all your help. Also, I just wanted to say yes, I am an American. I have been single for about 7 years and I have been looking for a Russian woman for marriage, but I'm not so sure now, because of this. There seems to be many Russian women becoming more like American women. In my country many women tend to fall in love with someone only if they are wealthy, and I was hoping to find someone from Russia who would like me for who I am, but I'm not so sure now. Why do you think many women are doing this to guys that would really fall in love with them? Well, I want to thank you again for helping me, you really saved me a lot of heart ache.

Sincerly Vernon.

Hello Vernon,

Do not mix Russian women with scammers. Scammers are mostly criminal groups that work on the interest of Western and American men to Russian women.
It seems that there are many Russian women who are in this. It is WRONG!
Russian women who register at the dating sites have one name, one set of pictures, one address. Scammers that want to get money out of men have many, many , many names, many addresses, many pictures. They are very active. They find men where Russian women just do not have access - like yahoo, match.com,  American singles. Russian women just do not have credit cards to pay for these sites’ services.
Russian women work and therefore can't spend 10 hours a day at the dating sites. For scammers it is work, and they spend there 24 hours (work in shifts).
Recently in the scamming center of Russia Kazan a big group of scammers was caught. There were about 200 people in the group and they operated in 5 offices. Mostly they were men (who were mostly threatened to work there. They worked almost for nothing). There were also some women who phoned to men and talked to them, the same situation as with men, they had miser salary and were threatened to work there. Students were asked to give their passports to receive money in Western union. For this they were paid about 2 usd. But the most problem is I think that most organizers of this business were not caught. I check the IP of all the girls who register and see when women begin to register from one of the IPs of these criminal groups (I do not activate their profiles). They were silent for 2 weeks, but I see now that again some women begin to register from this criminal group in Kazan.
Another big group operates in Bryansk. Recently a group was formed in Luhansk (but they catch very gullible people - they publish photos of well-known models). Another big group there is in Moscow.
In all cases, it is one active man who organizes everything. Of course, women write that they are from different cities (but it is seen in their IP addresses that they are not; however they ask to send money mostly to one of these cities.
Of course, there are some very small scamming groups in other places, but they are not so active. So in all this scamming, it is not Russian women who do it. Do not get mistaken.
Look at my site 1russian-girls.com. There are two articles on the first page of it - read, it will help you to understand how to recognize a scammer before they actually begin to ask for money.

Best regards,
Irina

Hello Irina,

Thanks for your letter and the information. In your first letter you asked me if I wanted to share with you a few letters that this person wrote. Well, I included her resent letter that she wrote to me, but I would like to share with you what I did to her or him, though I like to believe its a her, but I know that for the most part you said that its mainly men who do this. On the first link you gave me I found her picture, I then sent her a picture that she didn't send me and I asked her if she was ever into modeling, because I received an email from a dating site, [I didn't mention to her what site], that had many pictures of attractive and single women for me to correspond with, and I told her that I was wondering if she was in it, because she is so beautiful, so I looked and there she was. So I asked her, is this you? You look really attractive in this dress. I did this just to deceive her into saying YES it is me like she or he has been trying to do to deceiving me. In her response she said that it IS her picture, but she wanted to know what site it was on, because she hasn't been on many sites. In my response I said, so you are saying that it IS your picture? I got bad news, I found it on a dating site, [I still didn't mention to her or him what site it was], and it had pictures of scammers, and I told her that she was in it. In her response she said that someone is using her pictures and that she's innocent. Now, maybe its a guy thing on my part on the hope that it could be a girl who could be changed, so I gave her the benefit of the doubt and I said to her, if you want to prove to me that you are the girl in these pictures you will give me your phone number, you will stop asking me for money, and you would be willing to wait 6 months for me to visit you. Maybe that part about visiting her within 6 months wasn't a good idea, but as I said before, I was sort of hoping that its a girl, and that maybe she would change for me. But she just sent me a letter, and it is this letter from her or him that I'm including with this letter to you. The main question that I have concerning this letter is that, lets say she is a girl, she's innocent, and she is willing to wait for me, would it be safe to visit her in Russia? Would a scammer wait 4 to 6 months for me to go there and try something? I hope that your able to open this letter, because its in an email format. I know that I can open it with microsoft office, but I'm not sure what type of format you have. If you are not able to open it, please let me know of a better way to save it, so I can send it to you.  I would really appreciate your response. Thank you.

Sincerely, Vernon.

Irina to Vernon

Hello Vernon,

Sorry for not answering long. I was at the dacha (summer house) working with the site from there (my managers work from the office, but I have a 7 months old baby and therefore work from home). And as it is cold I was moving to the city for winter.
Visa and travel scam is not done by a girl or by men, it is a group. Everything is done so that to make people not feel guilt and not have a chance to change something. Only leaders know the entire scheme. All others are just pawns. This person goes to different sites and registers by different names. This person finds photos. This person communicates by email with this list of men, the girl phones to this list of telephones and flirts there. This person receives money. Men who answer emails usually threatens. And all people there work for rather low salary.
Recently a group of 200 scammers was arrested in Cheboksary (it is the main center of Russian scamming). They are in prison now, but the leaders hired other people and I see from my logs that they operate again.
I doubt that the leaders of these criminal groups will change, and in any case they do not receive messages from men. But other people won't change, it is just their work. Maybe they will be arrested, maybe not.
So there is no chance that it is a girl, and everything is done by one person. No chance that it is real pictures of anyone from that city. Usually they use pictures of different Russian singers, Russian models, and so on. I have not heard about real pictures used by them.
They all say that the pictures were stolen. If you want to be sure ask «her» to send you a copy of her Russian passport. They always think that foreigners have no one in Russia to ask about this and send a complete fake and any Russian can see it. In any case, «her» reply is usual in this case, they always write a lot of love words and that's all.
You can also say that your friend is coming to her city in 2 days, and you want her to meet your friend and show the city to him. Give as much details as possible so that you make her believe. «Your friends´ name, how he looks like and what he wants to see». You will see an interesting reply.

I will read now other letters of yours,
Best regards,
Irina
